Sydney Etsy Made Local Markets are going to be fan-flipping-tastic!

We’re excited. Very very excited.

As you may know, we’ve been busy organising Sydney Etsy Made Local, a creative, crafty, and all-round awesome makers market to be held at the Seymour Centre on 28 November.

We had an overwhelming number of high quality applications and have narrowed it down to over 65 fantastic sellers (trust us, it wasn’t easy).

On top of celebrating some of our finest makers, collectors, artisans and designers in Sydney, there’s also an extravaganza of delicious food trucks, entertainment and workshops.

Etsy Made Local is a nationwide event featuring Etsy sellers all over Australia. From Melbourne to Brisbane to Adelaide, the Etsy community will come together (in their respective cities) to promote independent designers and locally made goodies, just in time for Christmas.

For all the latest news, like the Sydney Made Facebook page and join the Sydney Etsy Made Local Facebook event. With over 15,000 attendees on Facebook (and counting), it’s going to be an event you won’t want to miss!

Have you listed your #makeforgood product yet?

Here at Sydney Made, we believe in doing good and finding a silver lining in every cloud. That’s why we’re so excited about the #makeforgood campaign!

11 October was International Day of the Girl, a global effort to ensure a world free from discrimination for young women and girls.

Just a week on, the #makeforgood campaign is well underway and raising funds to create a silver lining for girls living in poverty.

If you haven’t already heard about #makeforgood, here’s the deal. It’s an awesome collaboration between Etsy and Plan International to raise funds for Plan International’s Because I Am A Girl initiative. At least 20% of the value of each item featured in the #makeforgood collection will be donated to this very worthy project.

We’re loving the different ways that Sydney Etsy sellers have interpreted the theme “a silver lining for girls”!

If you haven’t already listed your #makeforgood products, now is as good a time as any to get involved! Find out how.

Now over to you. Tell us about your #makeforgood product in the comments!
